PGMI (Great Missenden Ltd)
Expert Witness
The site was a formed of a mixture of uses including a listed pub, vacant and derelict residential dwellings, derelict garages and a non-conforming industrial use to the north of the high street in Great Missenden. Consent was granted for repurposing of the upper storeys of a Listed pub, The Old Red Lion from office to residential to provide 4 flats, and 34 new homes at appeal.
The local authority were concerned over the proposed development and refused consent. The carefully articulated arguments determined that the scheme would address heritage and transport concerns and was not able to support the policy objectives for the site in respect of affordable housing.
David van der Lande, advising on viability issues appeared at Inquiry giving expert evidence.
